About XAT 2023

XAT Exam 2023 Latest Update - XLRI Jamshedpur has declared XAT 2023 result on January 28 in online mode. Candidates can download the XAT scorecard 2023 using valid login credentials. It earlier opened the window for candidates to raise objections against the XAT 2023 answer key on January 17, in online mode.

XAT 2023 Result

Xavier School of Management (XLRI) has declared the result of XAT 2023 on January 28, 2023, in online mode. Candidates can download their XAT 2023 scorecard and check their sectional and overall percentile till March 31, 2023. 

XLRI will also send the hard copy of the XAT scorecard 2023 to the candidate’s residence but the applicant needs to pay Rs 300 in the form of Demand Draft (DD) in favor of XLRI Jamshedpur, payable at Jamshedpur. As the result of the XAT exam is declared, the cutoff to shortlist candidates for GD, and PI will soon be released by XLRI and other member institutes.

How to check XAT Result 2023?

The detailed step by step process to check the result is given below,

  • Go to the XAT official website - xatonline.in
  • Click on the login tab on the page.
  • Type the registered email and Password.
  • Click on the "Score Card" button.
  • The result will appear on the display.
  • Download and take two or three printouts of the same.

What after the XAT result?

Candidates must keep a copy of the scorecard cum result of XAT 2023 till the admissions are over. The scores of XAT will be used by all XLRI campuses and 160 B-schools for admissions to their management programmes. XAT 2023 is the screening test based on which candidates will be shortlisted for the selection process comprising of GD and PI.

What is XAT eligibility?

Before filling out the application form of the Xavier Aptitude Test, candidates are advised to go through the XAT 2023 eligibility criteria. Details pertaining to the educational qualification required marks, age limit, and related are mentioned under the XAT eligibility criteria 2023. XLRI Jamshedpur predefined the eligibility criteria of XAT which are given below.

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university.

  • Students in their final year of their Bachelor's degree or awaiting their results are also eligible to apply.

  • There is no specific CGPA or percentage mentioned that has to be obtained in the graduation. No age limit has been specified to appear for XAT 2023.

  • One of the key points prescribed by XLRI  in XAT eligibility criteria is that the candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.

Note- It must be noted that mere fulfillment of minimum XAT eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by XLRI, SPJIMR, XIMB, IMT, TAPMI or other B-schools in which the applicant applies for admission.

XAT 2023 Application Process

XAT 2023 registration was closed on December 11, 2022. Candidates applying for XAT 2023 could have paid the XAT registration fee of Rs 2000 which is the XAT exam fee for all categories (General, SC, ST, PWD, OBC, etc.). Those interested in XLRI programmes would have to pay an additional fee of Rs. 200/- each.

Correction in XAT 2023 application:

To change the test city preference, candidates could write to admis@xlri.ac.in mentioning their XAT exam ID, Father's Name, Date of Birth, chosen exam city, and updated city latest by the date specified by XLRI. This XAT exam form correction facility was allowed only once. The change of test city option is provisional and XLRI will take the final decision on it.

XAT 2023 Admit Card

XAT 2023 admit card was issued on the official website on December 26, 2022 in online mode. XAT admit card 2023 includes all the details pertaining to the entrance test such as XAT exam centre details, candidate’s roll number, reporting time, and exam day guidelines. Candidates can download the admit card for XAT after entering their registered email ID and password.

  • Log in to the official website of XAT- xatonline.in
  • Enter the email ID and password
  • XAT admit card 2023 is displayed on the screen.
  • Use the download tab to avail of the admit card before appearing for XAT.

XAT 2023 exam day guidelines

  • Carry the XAT admit card along with a valid photo ID as specified.
  • Past a photograph on the admit card of XAT and put the signature in the given space in front of the invigilator in the exam hall

XAT 2023 Answer Key

XLRI Jamshedpur opened the window to raise objections against XAT answer key 2023 on January 17 in online mode. It released the XAT 2023 response sheet on its official website, xatonline.in on January 10. In order to download the response sheet of XAT 2023, candidates have to enter their XAT ID and password.

The answer key of XAT 2023 is released only after the release of the XAT response sheet.  Candidates have to visit the official website of XLRI to download the XAT 2023 answer key.

XAT 2023 Cutoff

XAT 2023 cutoff will be released by XLRI Jamshedpur for each program tentatively on January 31, 2023. Candidates who meet the cut off prescribed by the institute will have to appear for the further round of selection procedures which include group discussion and personal interview rounds. Last year, the overall XAT cut off percentile for male candidates for Business Management (BM) programme was 94 while for female candidates, the cut off was 92.

The cutoff of the XAT exam is the minimum marks to be scored by a candidate in order to qualify for the admission process. The cutoff is determined by some important factors which include difficulty level of exam, no, of candidates appearing, availability of seats, and previous year's cut off trends. If a candidate meets the XAT cutoff 2023 criterion, she/he will be shortlisted for the selection rounds Group Discussion and Personal Interview. 

The XAT cutoff is usually different at each institute. Meeting the XAT cutoff criterion is the first stage of the admission process. If the test taker qualifies, s/he attends GD, WAT, and PI. The overall performance in each round along with the candidates' academic scores will be considered before the final selection.

XAT Eligibility Criteria 2023

The general eligibility criteria of XAT 2023 for all XAMI member colleges and other B-schools accepting XAT 2023 score is as mentioned below:

1. Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates must be holding a three-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university

  • Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for XAT 2023 provided they can furnish their bachelor's degree certificate and mark sheet by the end of the admission year.

2. Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for XAT 2023 and candidates can apply irrespective of their age.

3. XAT Eligibility Criteria & XLRI Eligibility are the same

  • It must be noted that the XAT exam eligibility 2023 and the XLRI admission eligibility 2023 are the same. On the pattern of XAT eligibility criteria 2023, XLRI also does not impose minimum marks restrictions in applying for the PGDM course.

  • However, depending on the course pursued, the eligibility criteria for XLRI may vary but the basic eligibility criteria remain the same.

4. XAT 2023 Exam Eligibility for NRIs

  • XAT eligibility criteria 2023 for domestic candidates require the candidates to appear in XAT 2023 for MBA/PGDM 2023-25 admissions

  • XAT exam eligibility criteria for NRI and foreign candidates is that they can apply through their valid GMAT scores.

There are more than 160 XAT participating institutes that accept XAT 2023 scores. XLRI Jamshedpur, one of the most aspired colleges for candidates, however, has different eligibility criteria based on the programme pursued. At present, XLRI Jamshedpur offers three management courses namely - PGDM in Human Resource Management, Business Management, and General Management Programmes.

XAT Registration 2023

The registration process for XAT 2023 commenced on August 10, in online mode and will close on December 11. Registered candidates will have to appear for the XAT 2023 exam on January 8. XAT 2023 registration can be done online by visiting the official website of XAT and the application form fee is Rs. 1800.

XAT Admit Card 2023

XLRI issued XAT admit card on December 26, 2022 in online mode via the official website - xatonline.in. Candidates who have successfully submitted their XAT registration form 2023 can download the XAT admit card. XAT login ID and password are required to download XAT admit card. Candidates will have to carry XAT admit card along with the Government-issues photo ID proof at the exam center to seek entry. Thus, it is advisable to download the admit card and take a printout for future reference. The last date to download XAT admit card 2023 is January 8, 2023. However, candidates must download the admit card well in advance to avoid last-minute hustle and bustle.

Steps to fill XAT 2023 registration form

Before filling out the application form for XAT 2023, candidates need to register first. XAT registration 2023 is divided into three stages. The first stage is creating XAT login credentials, filling out the application form XAT, and application fee payment.

  • Visit the official website of XAT

  • Now enter a few basic details to register for XAT 2023

  • Now re-login using the same credentials

Step 2 - Filling XAT 2023 application form

  • Fill in XLRI programme details and upload documents

Step 3 - Pay XAT 2023 application fee

  • Pay XAT 2023 application fee by using a Credit/ Debit card or net banking

XAT 2023 application process (Detailed process)

Candidates can refer to the following steps while registering or filling out the application form for XAT 2023.

Step 1 - Visit the official website of XLRI Jamshedpur i.e. www.xatonline.in

In order to fill out the registration form for XAT 2023, candidates are required to visit the official website and register for XAT 2023 to create login credentials.

Step 2 - Now click on new candidate login for a new login and those who have already registered need to click on the “registered login” tab

On the home page of the official website, candidates can see two options-

  • Option 1 - New candidate registration
  • Option 2 - Registered candidate login

Those who are going to appear for the first time for the XAT exam should select option 1 and those who have already registered at the XAT portal can select option 2 to fill out the XAT 2023 registration form. Those who are not registered will have to create a User ID and Password. In order to create credentials, candidates need to enter the following details.

  • Candidates name

  • Email address

  • Enter mobile number

  • Set Password

  • Select State

  • Select city

  • Captcha code

Now enter the security code and then click on the “I agree” tab and proceed with the “Submit” button.

After successful submission, the screen will display XAT 2023 registration following details.

Step 3 - To continue further click on the “Go to XAT application form” tab

Now re-login by entering your XAT ID and Password to log in. For filling out the application form of XAT, click on ‘go-to application form’ and proceed further.

After entering the XAT ID and Password and filling XAT registration 2023 form, candidates can now fill out the XAT application form, and fill in certain information in various sections such as

Those who have work experience can provide it in the relevant field (Not mandatory).

Step 6 - Enter programme details

Now candidates will have to enter programme details which they opt to pursue. Candidates can choose any of the following courses.

  • Business Management

  • Human Resource Management

  • Fellow Programme in Management

For the General Management Programme (One should have a minimum experience of 56 months)

After programme selection, candidates will have to fill in their preference of campus for each programme.

After filling out the entire XAT application form, candidates are required to pay the application fee for XAT 2023. Candidates are required to pay Rs 2000 by using the following method.

  • XAT Registration Fee (without late fee)- Rs 2000/-
  • Those candidates who are interested in XLRI programmes need to pay an additional fee of Rs 300/- each.
  • Indian candidates applying for GMP through GMAT will have to pay Rs 2500/-
  • NRI/ Foreign candidates applying for one or more programmes through GMAT will have to pay Rs 5000/-
  • There are no separate XAT registration fees for SC candidates.

Step 8 - Download the payment receipt

After paying XAT 2023 application fee, the computer screen will display the candidates' details. Candidates will have to download the XAT application detail which will be available in PDF. The same will be intimated through a confirmation test on their email ID and registered mobile number.

XAT 2023 registration: Key points to remember

  • At the time of online XAT registration 2023 candidates can select two XAT exam cities for allotment of XAT exam centre
  • On successful XAT application fee payment, an e-receipt will be displayed on the computer screen. Non-generation of "E-receipt" indicates the payment failure
  • On failure of XAT application fee payment, candidates are advised to religion by using their same email ID and password and repeat the XAT application fee payment process
  • Take a printout of the XAT application fee receipt. The same cannot be generated afterward

How to retrieve the XAT password?

In case a candidate forgot their XAT login credentials, then in such case they can retrieve their XAT credentials by performing the following steps.

  • Step 1 - Click on XAT Registration 2023 tab
  • Step 2 - Now click on the “Forgot Password” tab
  • Step 3 - Candidates will have to provide their registered email ID and phone number
  • Step 4 - Enter captcha code
  • Step 5 - Now click on the “Get Password” tab
  • Step 6 - XAT 2023 registration ID and password will be mailed to candidates' registered email ID

What after XAT 2023 registration?

Those who will successfully register for XAT 2023, after the closing of the correction window candidates will be able to download XAT 2023 admit card, which will be available in online mode only. While downloading the XAT hall ticket, candidates will have to use their login credentials XAT ID, and Password.

XAT 2023 Selection Process

The selection procedure of XAT usually starts in the month of February 2023 after the announcement of the result. The selection process includes GD, Essay Writing, and Personal Interview. First, XLRI, its 11-member institutes and other XAT participating institutes shortlist the test takers on the basis of cutoff. Then the shortlisted one attends the mentioned selection rounds. Many institutes do not conduct all three rounds. Past academic scores, work experience (if any), profile, XAT score will be considered along with the performance in XAT selection rounds for the final admission.

XAT 2023 Test Pattern- Sectional Breakup of Questions

As per the trends of the XAT paper pattern, the total number of questions that will be asked in XAT 2023 is 100. The XAT exam pattern has questions multiple choice-based questions. The sections from which questions are asked in the XAT exam are- Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge along with the Essay Writing section.

The duration of the XAT 2023 exam is 190 minutes with no sectional time limit except for the GK section which has to be solved in 15 minutes. XAT Marking Scheme 2023

One of the key aspects of the XAT exam paper is the marking scheme. The XAT marking scheme pattern is different from other test papers. There is no negative marking for questions asked in the General Knowledge sections. However, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. In addition to this, if the candidate leaves 8 questions unattempted then the negative marking of 0.10 marks is done. Check the XAT marking scheme below:

  • One mark will be awarded for each right answer to XAT

  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer

  • 0.10 marks will be deducted for more than eight unanswered questions

  • There will be no negative marking in the General Knowledge section

  • The scores of the General Knowledge section will not be considered for calculating the XAT score
